SENSIBLY CHIC ECO BOUTIQUE
Hotel Indigo-Athens is the first LEED® Gold Certified hotel among IHG’s (InterContinental
Hotel Groups’) over 4,500 hotels worldwide.
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, The Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the worldwide standard for certification
of the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. We
believe it makes good business sense to consume and waste less, while delivering
a premium product to guests, employees and the local environment. In addition, Hotel
Indigo-Athens is pet-friendly. So you and your furry, four legged friend can both
stay in luxury and style.
Hotel Indigo-Athens boasts a “sensibly chic eco-boutique” mantra, meaning guests
do not sacrifice luxury, service or amenities for the sake of simplicity or price.
Some of the green features that give the hotel its gold status include large windows
with expansive daylight and views, individual lighting and thermal controls powered
by energy-efficient mechanical systems and priority parking for hybrid or low-emission
vehicles. Indigo-Athens is 21% more energy-efficient than other hotels and over 30%
of the hotel’s building material has recycled content. Community engagement was also
paramount to the property’s sustainable development, from our partnership with local
artists in the Hotel Indigo-Athens Art Gallery to our reclaimed wood walls sculpted
by local artisans.
